Today we did a day trip to the Port Arthur Historic Site, a former convict colony in southern Tasmania.

We started the day doing a ferry tour around the site, which was Avery's first time on a boat (she is a natural sailor). We then did a walking tour of the site, and visited the former prison, insane asylum, and other buildings with historical significance.
On the way to Port Arthur we did a quick detour to see the oldest bridge in Australia (which was not eventful), and on the way home we stopped at the 'blow hole', which was really blowing as it was really windy.
At night, we feasted on fried sea food, purchased from a boat situated in Hobart harbour. Avery made do with a feast of cucumbers, white peaches (native to Taz) and her new favorite food--bread.
