Today we packed up and left Hobart to tour the East Coast of Tasmania.
On the way out of Hobart we trekked up Mount Wellington, the highest point in the state. Our peppy rental car barely made the trip! Once at the top there was too much fog to enjoy the views (we could barely see each other), but we did get a good view of the city on the way up and back down.
Once we arrived in Bicheno we checked into the Best Western, by far the worst accommodations on our trip so far (the bed linens weren`t white...need we say more). We were very envious of Avery`s travel bed. Thankfully it was only for one night.
Fortunately, Bicheno has a lovely walk along the water, and we had a nice mid-evening stroll with Avery. After dark, Stephen headed out to get a view of the blue penguins, the smallest penguins in the world.
